Where you look in the cup changes the meaning

The same symbol reads differently depending on where it sits. When you find a figure, first look at where it is.

The bottom of the cup
The past and roots. Figures here speak of what is behind you, or what still exerts a pull.
The middle
The present. Signs about the stretch you are living through appear here.
The rim and the lip
The near future. The closer to the rim, the sooner it arrives.
The handle side
You and your home. Figures near the handle are about you directly; far ones, your surroundings.

Frequently asked questions

Which symbols appear most often in coffee readings?

Bird, road, fish, heart and tree are the most common. Bird means news, road a journey, fish abundance, heart a matter of feeling, tree a solid foundation.

If there are several symbols, which one counts?

They are read together. Two symbols close to each other are parts of one message; distant ones point to separate matters.

Does a symbol mean the same for everyone?

No. The traditional meaning is a starting point; its position in the cup, its size and the shapes beside it all shift the reading.

Is coffee reading real?

bakfal is for entertainment. Readings draw on traditional symbolism and are not medical, legal or financial advice.
